Description of my online supervision service
My role is to develop a safe accessible space to explore your work including areas that concern you; plus help you celebrate achievements; to help you normalize your experience with clients and possibly colleagues; help you maintain your sense of purpose and professionalism and encourage you to maintain an ethical approach.

Description of my online supervision service
I offer supervision via webcam as well as email which I would describe as a collaborative, enjoyable, reflective, focused and ethically grounded experience between two imperfect human beings.

To me it matters who the supervisee is as much as what they do, because their personal / professional identity is directly relevant to the client’s well-being. Supervision aims to contribute collaboratively and co-creatively to the supervisee’s evolving competence.

I also offer one off or emergency supervision as and when needed.

Experience of supervising online
Online supervisory support for practitioners since 2000.

Supervision model
Mainly integrative: psychodynamic and systemic by training. Over the years supervisees and experience have helped fine-hone these. I also work with (and have researched) ‘parallel process’ in therapy and supervision settings.

Other models I am conversant with
My supervision skills are generic and can be adapted to most helping professions.

My own counselling/therapy approach(es)
1) Integrative
2) psychodynamic
3) systemic

Face to face training
1) Certificate of Supervision (part one): 1997 with Michael Jacobs and Moira Walker
2) Relate Supervision Training: 2000-2001

Online training
1) General Certificate in Online Therapy

Professional organisations
1) BACP
2) ACTO

Code of ethics adhered to
1) BACP
2) ACTO

Fee schedule
£32 per hour

Payment method(s)
Negotiable

Additional information
I have supervised at Relate, Mind, University of Exeter and in private practice. As well as counsellors / psychotherapists of other orientations, my supervisees have included fellow supervisors and other professionals such as social workers and domestic abuse trainers.

Set up University of Exeter's online counselling service for students in 2009 - ongoing.

Delivered a paper on the well-being of supervisors at the BACP supervision conference in London (22 Feb 2011).
